New, faster, smaller SPOT satellite personal tracker. All the advantages of the original SPOT with many extras.
Basic Subscription is required, (US $ 115 per annum.)
o SPOT is the worlds first and only Satellite Messenger.
o SPOT sends messages via satellites to e-mail addresses and/or cell phones.
o Each message contains 2 things.
1. GPS coordinates
2. A link to Google maps 1.
There are 3 modes of messaging
1. “SOS”– When the SOS button is pressed, a message is sent to our international 911 response center. The proper authorities are then dispatched to your location.
2. “OK”—The OK button is used to send an all is well message to friends and family.
3. “Help”– The help button is designed to be used in non-life threatening situations. The people on your contact list are notified of your position and request for assistance
***There is also a tracking feature. Every 10 minutes for 24 hours, your position is plotted. With your permission, anyone with an Internet connection can monitor your progress. The tracking feature is also an excellent personal trip log that is a great compliment to photos or journal entries.
Web Based Spot Personalization
1. After purchasing the device, the user logs onto the www.findmespot.com and registers his unit.
2. The friends and family contact list is entered. Up to ten emails and ten cell phone contacts per “Help” or “Ok” function
3. The user can customize the messages for both the “Help” and “OK” notification. The 115 character message can be changed via the website at any time.
